Innovation Challenges

Solving Real Problems. Creating Real Impact.

Innovation Challenges™ are collaborative problem-solving experiences where changemakers work individually or in multidisciplinary teams to design practical solutions to real-world social, environmental, cultural, and economic challenges.

Rather than competing only for prizes, participants develop ideas through research, mentorship, prototyping, testing, and collaboration before presenting their solutions to peers, mentors, partners, and industry experts.

Every challenge is designed to transform ideas into practical action while strengthening leadership, innovation, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking.

Why Innovation Challenges

The world’s biggest challenges cannot be solved by one person or one sector alone.

Innovation Challenges™ provide safe spaces where diverse perspectives come together to generate bold ideas, test assumptions, and develop solutions that create measurable impact.

They encourage participants to think creatively, collaborate across disciplines, and build confidence through experimentation.

How Innovation Challenges Work

Every challenge follows a structured journey based on the Purpose to Impact™ methodology.

1. Discover the Challenge

Participants explore a real community problem, identify opportunities, and understand the needs of the people affected.

2. Generate Insights

Teams conduct research, engage stakeholders, analyse root causes, and gather evidence before designing solutions.

3. Create Solutions

Participants brainstorm ideas, develop prototypes, test concepts, and refine their innovations through feedback and iteration.

4. Collaborate

Mentors, technical experts, community members, and ecosystem partners provide guidance throughout the challenge.

5. Pitch and Accelerate

Teams present their solutions to judges, partners, investors, and development organisations, with selected projects progressing into incubation through Spice Accelerator™.
